what is Stretch therapy?

What is Stretch Therapy and Why do you Need it? Discover the Benefits of Our Established Practice in Riverton.

As we get older and our bodies change, we may start to notice aches, pains, and stiffness that we didn't have before. This can be especially true for those of us who sit at desks all day or lead a sedentary lifestyle.

Enter stretch therapy – a form of bodywork that can help you get back to feeling like your best self. Stretch therapy involves a combination of assisted stretching and soft tissue work to help alleviate pain, improve posture, reduce injuries, decrease soreness, and increase flexibility. Unlike traditional massage therapy, stretch therapy focuses on moving your body through its full range of motion, helping to loosen up tight muscles, connective tissue and restore mobility.

Now offering Stretch Therapy in our Riverton Studio

At StayFITT Training, we are proud to offer stretch therapy in our Studio here in Riverton. Our team of experienced stretch therapists are dedicated to helping you feel your best. We work with you to identify areas of tension or pain and use a variety of techniques to help relieve them. This may include passive stretching, where your therapist moves your body through various stretches while you relax, or active stretching, where you actively participate in the stretch.

Stretch therapy is a gentle and effective way to increase mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being. By working with a trained professional, you can learn how to stretch properly and develop a routine that works for your body's unique needs.

Corrective Stretch

Our corrective stretch therapy combines years of experience plus the latest techniques that deliver relaxing and reforming movements designed to alleviate pain and create your natural range of motion.

Our Corrective Stretch Therapy Can Help You:

Reduce Pain -
Pain prevents us from taking on everyday tasks with confidence and doing the things we love. By addressing tension and tightness in muscle groups, you are able to get muscle pain relief throughout your body. Whether acute or chronic, regular stretching is a key component of pain relief.

Reduce Tightness and Muscle Tension -
Stress, sitting, daily activity, and sports training can cause increased muscle tension and soreness. This causes the muscles to be overactive, causing tightness. Corrective stretching retrains the nervous system to relieve muscle tension, which can lead to better sleep quality and a decrease in muscle cramping.

Improved Flexibility -
Flexibility is crucial regardless of lifestyle. From the gardener to the professional athlete, flexibility is key. Our multiple methodologies help you maintain a healthy range of motion and restore your body’s ability to move without pain and discomfort.

Percussion Therapy

Our percussive recovery targets key areas to provide tension relief, break down inactive tissues, and promote blood flow throughout your body. Using the latest technology to deliver instant results and relaxation in your body’s most prone areas.

Our Percussion Therapy Can Help You:

Relieve Tension -
Chronic stress has become an epidemic in our society and this stress manifests itself as knots, aches, and pains. With percussion therapy, we target tension that has built up which promotes relief to their areas causing the aches and pains.

Promote Recovery-
A small study published in the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research found percussive therapy to be as effective as massage in preventing DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). Percussion therapy also increases blood flow to speed up recovery.

Fascia Release-
Fascia is the connective tissue that holds our muscles and organs in place. When we don’t move enough, do repetitive movements that overwork one part of the body, have surgery or an injury can cause the fascia to develop adhesions or the fascia can get tight restricting the full movement of muscles. The feeling of tightness can be linked to tight fascia, percussion can relieve tightness by releasing tightness within the fascia, allowing muscles to maximize the range of motion.

Reduce Cellulite -
As percussion massagers use intense pulses to massage specific deep muscles, it encourages blood flow while helping tone your muscles. As a result, it reduces the dimpled skin covering your muscles, ultimately minimizing signs of cellulite.
